On March 18, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in the Training Room of the Department of Insurance, 9th floor, West Tower, Floyd Building, 2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30334, the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner will hold a public hearing on three proposed changes to the Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Insurance Department. On April 19, 2019, Centene Corporation filed a Form A statement with the Georgia Department of Insurance. This filing is required in conjunction with the proposed acquisition of control of WellCare Health Plans Inc., by Centene Corporation. WellCare Health Plans Inc. is the ultimate controlling party of the Georgia domestic insurer, WellCare of Georgia, Inc., a health maintenance organization. The Commissioner must either approve or disapprove the proposed transaction based upon the standards set forth in O.C.G.A. § 33-13-3(d)(1).
On September 27, 2019, the Georgia Department of Insurance and Commissioner John F. King released the Final Order and Consent Order approving the proposed acquisition.Insurance Company Complaint Statistics data are now on our website:
